چکیده

Olive leaf extracts possess broad biological activity including antimicrobial properties.Studies have provided evidence suggesting that the extracts increase activity againstdifferent pathogens. 4 Although the extract mixture show antimicrobial activity, theactive compound has not been identified. East Park Research (EPR) developed anextraction process of olive leaves that do not destroy the compounds found in the leaves. The extract is known as d-lenolate. The purpose of this study is to separate and purify allthe compounds of d-lenolate and to evaluate possible active compounds. One of theknown compounds of d-lenolate is oleuropein. Currently, the techniques of separatingand purifying oleuropein are being studied. By comparing the data between extractedoleuropein and commercially bought oleuropein, it may validate the extraction process.Once the purification method is obtained, it will then be further used to extract othercompounds in the d-lenolate mixture. All individual extracted compounds from thed-lenolate mixture will then be tested for antimicrobial activity in future studies. References1. A. P. Enhanced Resistance against Influenza Virus by Treatment with Dietary Supplement d-Lenolate in Neutropenic Mice Induced by Cyclophosphamide

Relationship between depression of early protection against influenza virus infection and the decrease in the number of peripheral polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN) in cyclophosphamide (CY)-treated mice was investigated using d-Lenolate (Lenolate), which had been shown to exert a potent restorative effect on leukocytopenia in immuno-compromised hosts. Following intranasal inoculation with infl...
